Optimizing Staff Mentoring in Character Formation of Students in the Discipleship Program at YWAM Sentani Papua

Character education is an important aspect in forming a young generation that is not only academically superior, but also has integrity and strong moral values. YWAM (Youth With A Mission) Sentani Papua is one of the educational institutions that integrates academic and spiritual learning through a discipleship program. However, the success of this program is highly dependent on the quality of staff mentoring for students. This study aims to examine how staff mentoring can be optimized in the formation of student character, as well as identify the challenges faced and strategies for increasing the capacity of mentors. The data shows that most staff do not have specific training in character education, which has an impact on the effectiveness of discipleship. Therefore, ongoing training and parental involvement are needed to support the holistic character formation process. Routine evaluation of program implementation is also needed so that it can be continuously improved. This study is expected to contribute to the development of character education in a faith-based educational environment

Analysis of Technology-Based CRE Learning Models Using a Deep Learning Approach for High School Students

The development of digital technology in the modern era has brought major changes to the world of education, including Christian Religious Education (CRE). The CRE learning process in various schools still tends to be conventional, teacher-centered, and does not make optimal use of technology. This condition has resulted in low student engagement and a lack of reflective understanding of the values of faith. This study aims to analyze technology-based CAR learning models using a deep learning approach for high school students. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a library research study through a review of relevant books, scientific journals, and previous studies. The results of the study show that of the five technology-based learning models studied, namely e-learning, blended learning, mobile learning, multimedia learning, and gamification. The gamification model is the most effective choice to be applied with a deep learning approach. The application of gamification supports the three main dimensions of deep learning, namely meaningful learning, mindful learning, and joyful learning. Through the integration of digital technologies such as gamification, reflective videos, and other interactive media, students not only understand the material cognitively, but are also able to internalize religious values and apply them in their daily lives. This approach has proven effective in developing the potential of high school students cognitively (critical and reflective thinking), physically (active and motivated), and socially (collaborative and empathetic). Thus, technology-based PAK learning with a deep learning approach not only improves academic learning outcomes but also shapes Christian character that is faithful, creative, and responsible amid the challenges of the digital age.

Analysis of Democratic Parenting Styles Related to CRE Learning Motivation in High School Students

This study aims to analyze the relationship between democratic parenting and Christian Religious Education (CRE) learning motivation in high school students, which is motivated by low learning motivation and suboptimal family support in fostering spiritual learning enthusiasm. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach, this study examines various relevant literature to understand the relationship between parenting styles and learning motivation. The results show that democratic parenting styles that balance affection, discipline, and open communication play an important role in building students' intrinsic and spiritual motivation. In the context of CRE, this parenting style creates a learning environment conducive to the growth of faith, responsibility, and Christian character. This study contributes theoretically to Christian education studies and offers practical guidance for parents and CRE teachers in shaping a generation that is steadfast in faith and highly motivated.

Application of the Constructivist Method and Its Implementation in Christian Religious Education at Paulus Theological Seminary Jakarta

This study examines the application of constructivist pedagogy within Christian Religious Education at Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Paulus Jakarta. Constructivism rooted in the work of Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky posits that knowledge is actively built by learners through experience, reflection, and social interaction rather than passively transferred from instructors. In theological education, this shift reframes lecturers as facilitators who scaffold students’ personal and communal engagement with Scripture and Christian doctrine. Employing a qualitative descriptive design that integrates literature review, non-participant observation, and semi-structured interviews with lecturers and students, the study finds that constructivist practices at STT Paulus Jakarta promote higher-order thinking, contextual biblical interpretation, and collaborative learning. Notwithstanding these benefits, challenges persist in lecturer readiness, student self-regulation, and resource availability. The paper argues that constructivism is both relevant and effective for Christian education, provided it is supported by institutional commitment to professional development and pedagogical innovation.
